The Kindness Club: Week 12 Prompt
June 29th, 2010 | 13 Comments
It’s week 12 of the Kindness Club.
Thanks to all of you who have been reading and joining in even if you are not posting or commenting.
Last week’s Kindness Club prompt was to pick up litter that you find on the floor as you are going about your day.
It takes a second to pick up a piece of trash that has fallen or been thrown on the floor. If everyone would pick up even one piece of trash a day the world would be so much cleaner.

This week’s prompt is while in a social setting to introduce yourself to someone you don’t know who looks lonely, bewildered or uncomfortable.
We have all had moments where we have felt uncomfortable in some social setting. For some it can be at a party or a wedding for others it can be something like a being the new mother in a mom and baby group.
I figured with Cybermummy coming up ( yes I am jealous not to be going) and a lot of people being worried about meeting new people, this would be a good prompt for this week.
So be kind and if you find yourself in a social situation make an effort to introduce yourself to someone else who is on their own or looking uncomfortable. You know you would want someone to do the same for you.
Write a blog post about your experiences. Or you can choose to capture the spirit of the weekly prompt in a photograph ala Tara Cain’s Gallery at Sticky Fingers.
Come back on Sunday to link up your posts and pictures. (I will leave the McLinky up from Sunday till Sunday.)
If anyone who is not a blogger wants to join in please feel free to email me at and I will put your story or photo up on my blog.

I am me and also lots of other things like a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a daughter in law, a sister in law, a friend, an oncology nurse, a blogger, a life coach in training, an avid book reader, a chauffeur, a chef, a shopper, a maid and on some days a bit overwhelmed. On this blog I share my journey of striving to see the best in everyone and everything. Strive, because I don't always manage to. Yup, I am human. I would love to have you join me in learning lessons in positivity from life.

Another lovely prompt. I don’t often have the courage to do this but when I have it has always worked out well. I have made some great friends this way:) Looking forward to seeing the posts:) Jen.
Thanks. Once you get used to doing it, it’s a lot easier.
I always try to do this. I distinctly recall the times I have felt lonely or bewildered in a social setting, and I know how much I appreciated this little bit of kindness when it was shown to me. Nice prompt!
It makes a setting so much nicer when someone welcomes and helps you.
Yay I can really join in on this one!! I’m always skipping along saying hi to all and sundry. The British think I’m weird, but I really don’t care!
LOL-only the British? Muwahhh!
I am loving your kindness prompts – this one is such a good one this week. I’m really going to work on it.
Thanks. Let me know how it goes.
I’ve been in a bit of a hole recently, so I’m catching up on lots and lots of blogs today. This is beautiful, and something I always try to do. I’ll make sure I do it even more on Saturday, and think of you.
Thanks so much. Have a great time. Sorry I will be missing it.
Me too. I’d love to meet you.
Susie this is such a well thought out and timely prompt with so many of the UK based bloggers off to CyberMummy this week. I shall do my very best to keep the prompt in mind throughout the day.
MD xx
Hope you had a great time and met lots of people.
