The Kindness Club: Week 10 Prompt
It’s week 10 of the Kindness Club.
Thanks to all of you who have been reading and joining in even if you are not posting or commenting.
Last week’s Kindness Club prompt was to give or lend a book you own that you really enjoyed to someone else.
Books were meant to be shared. They are the common language that brings people together. I hope you enjoyed lending or giving out your books. Try to continue doing that every time you read a book you love or really enjoyed.

This week’s prompt is to visit or help someone who is sick.
One important thing to remember when visiting sick people is to weigh our needs of wanting to support and comfort with what is best for the person and/or the family of the sick person. There are times when someone sick needs visitors and there are times when what they need is rest. Make sure to ask before visiting.
Even if you are told that the person or family prefer you don’t visit, what you can do is to offer to help with other things. When one family member is sick, especially when it is a prolonged sickness there are a lot of things that can assist them. You can offer to help out with chores, with carpools, with meals and with shopping. You can also come to visit with the family. Sometimes the person sitting next to someone in a hospital day in and day out needs a break or some company.
Remember to ask and to respect the family’s wishes. Do continue to ask. Over times need sometimes change.
So be kind and see how you can help someone who has been sick.
Write a blog post about your experiences and come back on Sunday to link up your posts. (I will leave the McLinky up from Sunday till Sunday.)
If anyone who is not a blogger wants to join in please feel free to email me at and I will put your story up on my blog.

Those are all such great ideas! I think things like chores lifts so much responsibility on those who are sick.
It really does because that is giving help where it is needed not where we want.
I’ve visited my friend who fell and broke her shoulder and another friend’s 90 year old Mum who had a stroke. A busy week of visits so far!
Nice job. It makes you feel good to help doesn’t it?
Hey dear,
Just got your comment.
Please email me if you want to talk. I do want to tell you, my papa has had the same thing for 50 years. FIFTY! It is amazing what the human spirit can do.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please, please, PLEASE email if you need to talk. That’s why I’m here.
Warmly,
Sally
Thanks for finding me! I love your kindness club – what a great idea. I will work hard on keeping up with your weekly prompts!
