The Kindness Club: Week 3 Prompt
Wow. Can’t believe it is already week 3 of the Kindness Club. To those who have been participating, thank you so much. To those new here, welcome and I hope you will enjoy and stay.

Last week’s Kindness Club prompt was to smile at least once a day at a stranger. I was happy to see so many people try it and how many were pleased with the results.
Keep on smiling and on top of that this week we have an added challenge.
This may sound easy, but if you actually think about it, everyone could probably do it better.
This week’s prompt is to say please and thank you.
That means saying please for everything you ask for and thank you for everything you get.
I think that you will find that we all should be using those words a lot more times a day then we really do.

When you use the word please before a request, the request suddenly sounds like a request instead of a demand.
When you say thank you, you are acknowledging that someone has done something for you that they didn’t HAVE to do. It is showing your appreciation.
So go on and be a really kind person this week and spread the words please and thank you all over the place.
Then write a blog post about it and come back on Sunday to link up your please and thank you posts. (I will leave the McLinky up from Sunday till Sunday.)
If anyone who is not a blogger wants to join in please feel free to email me at and I will put your story up on my blog.

Another excellent one. Something we could all do better at I’m sure. Looking forward to it. Incidentally I helped an elderly lady with a walker to get off of the bus yesterday, I used to do this sort of thing all the time but lately have gone into myself somewhat. Your club inspired me to start doing these little things again and it made me feel alive. Thanks
Thank you for telling me that. Really makes me feel happy.
ah yes, a very good one. could certainly be more pleases and thank yous in the world.
Lots more I think, if my day today was anything to judge by….. Takes the same energy to be nice as to be rude.
It is interesting how putting please at the start of a sentence changes it, I never thought of it that way before:) Jen.
It really really does. This way it is a request as opposed to an after thought.
I am a real stickler for manners and my 3 girls know not to ask for anything if they do not say please and that they will not receive anything if they do not say thank you. It takes little energy or breath but makes all the difference to the person helping you.
)
I have to give my credit for the please and thank you’s to my hubby. He was the one who always ingrained it into everyone in the family.

Please stop licking the carpet. Thank you for not pouring your chocolate milk into the fireplace.
LOL-you had me baffled there. I must be dense. So glad you responded to my email asking you what that was about. Got it now-about the practicing the please and hellos on your kids.
I’m practicing on my children…
I’m very pleased that I don’t actually have to wear fresh compost. Thank you for that.
You are quite welcome. LOL
We surveyed our junior staff at work and I was shocked that they said they rarely get told please and thank you – its such a little thing but it makes a bit difference
It does make a big difference. My husband has always said that a small word of thanks makes a big difference.
I find saying please and thank you gets me out of all sorts of sticky situations. Great blog idea, and posts well put!
