There Are People In This World Who Can't Be Reasoned With, So Don't Waste Your Time or Energy

There Are People In This World Who Can't Be Reasoned With, So Don't Waste Your Time or Energy

I am sure that we have all come across people who are so closed minded or unsmart (I know that is not a real word but I really don’t like to say stupid..oops, said it anyways) that there is almost no point in having any type of conversation with them. Or at least any conversation that involves them changing their own personal narrow minded point of view. My kids are especially lucky to have been gifted … Read entire article »

There Is Happiness In Every Day: Just Look For It

(Photo courtesy of Joe Shlabotnik) Every day no matter how stressful or hard brings happiness with it. You just need to look out for it and learn to recognize it everyday things. You need to learn to let simple moments infuse the happiness into your day. This is the second time I have been tagged with the Happy 101 Award. The award means that I have to make a list of ten things that make me happy. … Read entire article »

Sometimes The Only Problem Is The One In Your Mind

Sometimes The Only Problem Is The One In Your Mind

(Photo courtesy of Ryan Rasmussen) How many times have we hesitated about having a conversation or doing something with someone because we dreaded what might happen, what their reaction might be? We humans have this thing we do where we project our worries and insecurities on someone else. If we are worried about someone’s reaction to something we have to say to them, we imagine the conversation. What we would say, what they would say back, what … Read entire article »

When Visiting Other Countries, Learn Their Laws

When Visiting Other Countries, Learn Their Laws

(Photo courtesy of Vyacheslav Argenberg ) You know what they say, when in Rome, do like the Romans do. In this day and age of travel, I think the phrase should be: When visiting countries that are foreign to you, do remember to review the laws of the land. Well last week, my husband learned, when in Germany do like the Germans do. Or at the least he learned that it is best to familiarize yourself with any … Read entire article »

Make An Effort To Learn and Use People's Names

Make An Effort To Learn and Use People's Names

(Photo courtesy of Daniel Sancho ) My memory isn’t what it used to be. Maybe it’s the old age. You know, me being the geriatric 40 year old that I am. Maybe it is the 5 pregnancies that destroyed some grey matter. Or maybe my memory was never all that good. Whatever the cause, the fact is that my memory these days, especially when it comes to names, just stinks. I am assuming that this memory issue … Read entire article »

Listen To Your Body, Do Your Best To Understand It

Listen To Your Body, Do Your Best To Understand It

(Photo courtesy of Mike Licht, NotionsCapital.com ) Today like every day, there are quite a number of subjects bouncing around in my head waiting for me to write about them. The inside of my brain sounds like my kids arguing with each other. You know what I mean: Me, I want to, I was first, let me…..There has been a very heated battle going on in my head as to which topic deserves to see the … Read entire article »

Try to Treat Others the Way You Want to Be Treated

How many times do we find ourselves getting annoyed by someone else’s lack of consideration? This morning I caught myself starting to do just that. As it seems to be happening more and more lately, I was yet again……yup………late to work. I had worked a grueling evening shift in the ER, and somehow I was expected to get up this morning, get the kids out to school  (hubby is away on business) and leave to work by 7:30am (after getting to bed after midnight). Needless to say instead of pulling into the hospital’s staff parking lot at around 8am, it was actually closer to 8:40. Finding a parking spot after 8am is nearly impossible, so understandably I was quite thrilled to see two women walking to a car in the far corner … Read entire article »
